“Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”
We are humans, we are formed from the humus- the earth, and to that we shall return. In Genesis we hear that God created and formed us out of dust and then breathed into nostrils the breath of life (Gen. 2:7)... God hates nothing God has made. We are worthy of God’s love. We are humans, we are imperfect, we make mistakes. And, we are called into greater awareness, deeper relationship and true reconciliation. May we commit, for the right reasons, to keeping a holy lent. May we make space and time in our lives for God to come and breathe life in our dust.
